Description
Named after my orca neighbors in the Salish Sea in Washington state, Southern Resident is a garter stitch, mosaic knitting washcloth. Mosaic knitting is created by working one color at a time and slipping stitches to create a design or pattern.
Suggested yarn is a worsted weight cotton in two contrasting colors. 60 yards of light color and 40 yards of a dark color are required.
Sizing and gauge are not critical; use a needle size recommended for your yarn. The sample measures about 9 inches x 9.5 inches, with a stitch gauge of about 5 stitches per inch.
